
In the recent bureaucratic reshuffle in Rajasthan made a day prior to State Budget Session, Bhawani Singh Detha has been appointed as the Secretary, Department of Local Self Government Department of Rajasthan.
Detha would now be the in charge of the Smart Cities project in Rajasthan.
The 1999-Batch officer was serving as the Ex-officio Commissioner of the Department of Tribal Area Development, Udaipur.

He was also given the additional charge as Director, Mines and Geology Department, Rajasthan during the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 by the Election Commissioner of India.

Earlier, Detha had also held the post of Divisional Commissioner of Ajmer and Udaipur; District Collector of Jhunjhunu and Dholpur and Sub Divisional Officer of Ajmer and Chittorgarh.
Prior to joining the Indian Administrative Services, Detha pursued a career as Lecturer in Alwar Polytechnic College.
He has pursued Civil Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur.
Other officers who have been transferred by the Government of Rajasthan are Vikas Sitaramji Bhale, Mugdha Sinha, Siddharth Mahajan, Dr. Samit Sharma, Dr. Om Prakash, Virendra Singh, Pawan Arora, Ujjwal Rathore, and Ngikya Gohain.
