Vivek Gupta, a civil engineer with more than 38 years of experience in Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has assumed the charge as Director (Raw Material & Logistics) of the state-owned steel major.
Gupta’s appointment comes at a time when SAIL is looking to expand its production as part of a modernisation plan.
In his illustrious career of four decades, Gupta has served in IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), Chasnalla Colliery, Project Directorate, VISL and Raw Materials Division as well as in NMDC where he was on deputation, according to a statement from SAIL.

The new director holds many diplomas in the field of Business Management, Project management and Construction Management and has been trained in the UK in Advanced Project Management through Price Water House, Urwick Management Centre, Slough, London.
