Rajeeva Swarup transferred as ACS Home, Jail & State Investigation Bureau of Rajasthan

In the latest bureaucratic reshuffle in Rajasthan, Rajeeva Swarup, a 1985 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Home, Jail & State Investigation Bureau.

Swarup, presently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary-Industries, Government of Rajasthan, has played a key role in the smooth roll out of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Rajasthan.

Swarup’s transfer comes days after new Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot decided to carry out a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Rajasthan which involved at least 40 IAS officers and 8 RAS officers.

Having done his Masters in History, the senior IAS officer who hails from Uttar Pradesh, started his career as the Sub-Divisional Officer, Pali, Rajasthan and gradually rose to his current position after making significant contributions in sectors like MSMEs, higher and technical education, power and health.
