Mrs. Aruna Sundrarajan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, has taken over as the CMD, Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) — a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the Department of Telecommunications.

The tenure of the new incumbent CMD is not going to be easy as broadband connectivity on Optical Fibre has not been provided even to a single Gram Panchayat against the target of 1,00,000 Gram Panchayats during the current year 2014-15.
