LIC launches world By Elets News Network 30-November-2006


Public sector insurance company Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), has launched “Corporate Active Data Warehouse (CADW)'', the world's largest warehouse in the life insurance sector and world class data centre to house its entire IT infrastructure relating to its core applications.

The CADW has contained the data of 28 crore policies and their transactions over the past 5 years from which 19 crore polices are live. Approximately 14 crore unique customers of live policies have been allotted customer IDs to the customer data. The project will also help business users in form of analytical reports. According to TS Vijayan, LIC chairman, the project will offer 360 degree view of customers across product lines. Under the project, LIC's 2048 branches, 71 pension and group business units, 7 zonal offices and the corporate office have been centralised in the CADW.
