Mutahi Kagwe, Information and Communication Minister of Kenya has urged investors in the tourism industry to embrace e-Technology to market their products more effectively.

Speaking at Leisure Lodge Resort at the South Coast during a tourism stakeholders symposium, Kagwe said the technology is cost-effective and will help the sector to venture into hitherto unexplored destinations. The Minister said that this technology has been adopted by other countries and it provides a level playing field for both small and major investors. He said e-Technology is the concept of choice for any player in the industry. Saying that tourism industry plays a significant role in the country's economic growth, Kagwe said his ministry would actively partner with all stakeholders to expand the industry, which has now showed remarkable improvement. He said his ministry would soon roll out an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) national policy aimed at spurring the country's economic growth through modern technology and also promote the concept of the world as global village.
