Alltel on expansion mode

Alltel is expanding $15.4 million worth transmission sites in Tampa and St. Petersburg in an effort to give its customers better call quality and easier access to data features.


Part of a statewide programme, Little Rock, Ark.-based Alltel Corp. (NYSE: AT) is moving to enhance its service to areas like  Fort Myers, Pensacola and Panama City  by the end of the year, and to Tallahassee and Gainesville by early 2007. Internet connection being offered by Axcess Broadband, Alltel serves about 15 million customers in 36 states with annual revenues of about $10 billion.
