The government of Ghana is considering to adopt an e-governance programme as a mechanism to promote lateral and horizontal collaboration among the Metropolitan/Municipal/District Assemblies (MMDAs) to bring information to the citizenry and businesses.
The Malaysian government will help the Mozambican authorities develop a “Smart Card”, which will allow Mozambican citizens to have all their key documents such as the identity card, passport and driving licence, among others, on the same electronic card.
Accra, Ghana (Africa) organised a two-day seminar on e-Governance on 4-5 May 2006. The seminar urged the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to develop their own websites so that they could disseminate information online to the public to save time and cost.
