The article briefly describes the status of
health and health infrastructure in India and also tries to discuss governance issues involved in delivery of public health care.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has shown its interest to implement the e-Governance programme in Orissa, after successfully implementing the e-Governance programme in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The State Government is planning to put in place a State-Wide Area Network (SWAN), which will connect the state secretariat with over 6000 gram panchayats and 314 block offices of Orissa, India. The cost of the project is estimated about INR 120 billion.
