India expects to collect INR 350 billion from the auction of third-generation (3G) radio spectrum, scheduled to happen by December this year. The auction would allow telecoms firms to offer services such as high-speed Internet and video downloads on mobile phones. The government had initially aimed to get INR 200 billion.
In a move benefitting about 4.5 lakh truck owners, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is tying up with three banks in order to facilitate e-payment of the INR 15,000 national permit fee from any part of India.
