The Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation (Hartron) is planning to diversify its operations into newer areas and is scouting for business opportunities outside the state.
Haryana is ready to take the last step towards IT infrastructure development in the form of state data centre. The project, which is likely to catalyze an investment of about INR 500 million, is waiting an approval from the Central Government of India.
In yet another move towards e-Governance initiatives, the IT Department of Haryana Government, India, has decided to install computers with Internet facilities in all the 108 ‘mandis’ and 25 sub-centres of the agricultural marketing board of the state.
The Government of Haryana, India, has announced that it will soon make 5.2 million ration cards into smart cards. The government has earmarked an amount of INR 153 crore for this project. The state awaits the approval of the central government for implementing this scheme.

In order to improve its e-Governance, the Government of Tamil Nadu has a launched a website for online processing of land documents. The website was launched at a regional review conference organised jointly by the Land Resources department and Union Ministry of Rural Development.
