Key Appointments and Extensions Announced Across Ministries, Check List

The central government issued notifications on Thursday detailing key appointments and tenure extensions across various departments and ministries:


  • Karuna Kumari (IAS: 2010: AM) appointed as Director in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for five years.
  • Karma R Bonpo (IAS: 2010: SK) appointed as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (DCO/DCR), with a tenure up to December 31, 2025.
  • Vijay Singh (IFoS: 2011: MP) takes on the role of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a four-year term.
  • S Sharad Rao (IOFS: 2011) appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, with a combined tenure up to June 19, 2026, across ex-cadre and CSS posts.
  • Amit Kumar (IOFS: 2012) appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship until April 26, 2026.
  • Aminkhan Yasinkhan Shaikh (IRS: C&IT: 2011) selected as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for a four-year period.
  • Sweta Satya (IES: 2012) appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, with a four-year tenure.
  • Karamjeet Kaur (IES: 2012) appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Defence Production for a period of four years.
  • Mahesh Chand Bairwa (IOFS: 2009) takes up the role of Director in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, with a five-year term.
  • Vaibhav Rundwal (IES: 2012) selected as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, with a tenure of four years.
  • Manasi Sahay Thakur (IAS: 2009: HP) appointed as Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs for a five-year term.
  • Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OR), Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance, takes on additional charge as Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, until a permanent appointment is made.
  • Kandarp Vajubhai Patel (IA&AS: 2012) appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Delhi, for a four-year term.
  • Vikas Singh (IRS IT: 2007) appointed as Director in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for five years.
  • Arun Sinha (IPS: 1984: KL), current chief of the National Technical Reconnaissance Organisation (NTRO), receives an extension until December 31, 2024.
  • Siddharth Mahajan (IAS: 2003: RJ), Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, granted a tenure extension up to November 7, 2028.
  • Kiran Reddy T (IRS C&IT: 2009) appointed as Director in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Delhi, for a five-year term.
  • Chandrani Gupta (IES: 2007), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at The Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop Construction Company Ltd. (BBJ), Kolkata, entrusted with additional charge as CVO, Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd. (HEC), Ranchi, for one year.
