
In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Bihar government transferred 18 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and assigned additional charges to four officers, aiming to streamline governance and enhance efficiency across various departments. The General Administration Department issued an official notification outlining the changes.
- B Kartikeya Dhanji (IAS Batch 2008), the State Project Director of the Bihar Education Project Council, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Road Construction Department.
- Minendra Kumar (IAS Batch 2007), Secretary of the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, will now serve as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Bihar State Education Finance Corporation Limited.
- Rahul Kumar (IAS Batch 2010), Museum Director, has been transferred to the Finance Department as Special Secretary. He will also remain an officer on special duty in the Disaster Management Department until further notice.
- Yogendra Singh (IAS Batch 2007), Director of Secondary Education, has been given additional charge as State Project Director of the Bihar Education Project Council and Managing Director of the Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
- Ranjita (IAS Batch 2009), the Labour Commissioner, has been appointed Director of Social Welfare and will also oversee the Social Security Directorate.
- Anand Sharma (IAS Batch 2006), Director of Panchayati Raj, has been given additional responsibility as Chief General Manager of Bihar Vikas Mission.
- Geeta Singh (IAS Batch 2008), Additional Secretary in the Food and Consumer Protection Department, has been reassigned as Additional Secretary in the Animal Husbandry Department. Rachna Patil (IAS Batch 2009), Special Secretary of the General Administration Department, will take on the additional charge as Director of the Museum, Art, Culture, and Youth Department. Naveen Kumar Singh (IAS Batch 2012), Deputy Mission Director of Bihar Vikas Mission, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Social Welfare Department.
- Ibrar Alam (IAS Batch 2007), Additional Secretary in the Department of Science and Technology, has been transferred to the Department of Minority Welfare in the same capacity. Abhilasha Kumari Sharma (IAS Batch 2008), Additional Chief Executive Officer of Jeevika, has been given the additional charge of MNREGA Commissioner. Kalpana Kumari (IAS Batch 2009), Monitoring Officer of the Panchayat Raj Department, has been appointed as Additional Secretary of the Agriculture Department.
- Dr. Nandlal Arya (IAS Batch 2012) has been appointed as Settlement Officer, Nalanda. Rajneesh Kumar Singh (IAS Batch 2009), Additional Secretary cum Director Administration Home (Prisons), has been appointed Inspector General of Registration and Sub-Excise Commissioner. Rajesh Kumar Singh (IAS Batch 2011), Additional District Magistrate, Begusarai, has been made Additional Secretary, Bihar Public Service Commission.
- Rakesh Ranjan (IAS Batch 2010), Special Officer at the North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, will now serve as the General Manager of Beltron. Rajesh Kumar (IAS Batch 2009) has been made Settlement Officer, Purnia.
- Ahmed Mahmood (IAS Batch 2007), Additional Secretary in the Minority Welfare Department, has been transferred to the Department of Science and Technology. Vinayak Mishra (IAS Batch 2011), Administrative Officer in the General Administration Department, has been appointed Director of the Mid-Day Meal scheme.

- Warish Khan (IAS Batch 2009), Additional Commissioner of the Regional Transport Authority, Bhagalpur Division, has been transferred to the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority. Rajesh Bharti (IAS Batch 2010), Special Officer in the Bihar Vikas Mission, has been appointed Labour Commissioner. Sanjay Kumar (IAS Batch 2011), MNREGA Commissioner, has been made Joint Secretary in the Rural Works Department.
- This large-scale reshuffle, involving the reassignment of 22 IAS officers, reflects the state government’s commitment to making the administration more dynamic and responsive.
