Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), a leading public sector undertaking, marked its 46th Foundation Day with a vibrant celebration at the SCOPE Convention Center in New Delhi on 15th October 2024. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries from the telecommunications industry, former CMDs, Directors, and employees of TCIL.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting and Ganesh Vandana, followed by an audio-visual film tracing TCIL’s remarkable journey from its roots in building communication infrastructure in remote areas to becoming a telecommunications pioneer across 80 countries.

Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of TCIL, delivered the keynote address, expressing gratitude for the dedication of employees. He highlighted TCIL’s alignment with the government’s ‘Make in India’ vision and its plans for global expansion. Kumar also celebrated the company’s financial achievements, including a cumulative dividend of Rs. 4,055.69 crore paid to the government.

A.S Bansal, former CMD of TCIL addressed the gathering & shared his experience on how the decision for making investment in BHL was taken and how TCIL Bhawan was constructed., while Surajit Mandol, Director (Finance), lauded the company’s strong financial performance with revenue of Rs. 2,557.94 crores in 2023-24, surpassing the DPE target. Director (Technical) D. Porpathasekaran emphasised TCIL’s diversification into telecommunications and IT projects worldwide, citing ongoing initiatives in countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Mauritius.

Arun Kumar Chaubey, Director (Projects), highlighted the development of in-house expertise in critical technology areas such as Data Centers, Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation. Additional addresses were delivered by Shri Pramod Kumar Choudhary, Chief Vigilance Officer, and Shri Rohit Vaswani, Independent Director.

During the event, TCIL recognised outstanding contributions with its “Annual Awards” for FY 2023-24 and released a souvenir celebrating its role in India’s Digital Infrastructure, in collaboration with media partner Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd. The updated TCIL HR Manual was also launched, and a cultural performance concluded the event.
