The Government of Meghalaya on June 24th implemented a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring several IAS officers to new roles across the state. Sampath Kumar (1997-batch IAS), previously Principal Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, will now oversee the Forests & Environment Department.

FR Kharkongor (2000-batch IAS), formerly Commissioner & Secretary in the Department of Arts & Culture, has been assigned to the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary. Pravin Bakshi (2006-batch IAS), who served as Commissioner & Secretary in the Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, is now the Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Invest Meghalaya Authority (IMA) under the Department of Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development.
V K Mantri (2007-batch IAS), previously Commissioner & Secretary to the Department of Information & Public Relations, now holds the Education and Mining & Geology departments and serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) under the Department of Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development.
Dr. Joram Beda (2008-batch IAS), previously Commissioner & Secretary to the Department of Soil & Water Conservation and Registrar of Societies, has been relieved of his duties as Registrar of Societies.

R C Sohkhlet (IAS), formerly Secretary to the Department of Tourism, Sports & Youth Affairs, is now relieved from the role of Secretary of Sports & Youth Affairs. R P Marak (IAS), who was Secretary to the Department of Mining & Geology and Commissioner of Transport, has taken on the additional role of Director in the Department of Mineral Resources.
I Laloo (2013-batch IAS), previously Secretary to the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Director of the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, now has additional duties as Secretary to the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs and Director of the Department of Urban Affairs.

D D Sangma (2020-batch IAS), formerly Additional Secretary to the Department of Mining & Geology, is now Commissioner of Transport, after being relieved from the Department of Health & Family Welfare and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
R Chitturi (2016-batch IAS), previously Joint Secretary to the Department of Finance, has been made Joint Chief Executive Officer in the Invest Meghalaya Authority (IMA) under the Department of Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development.
M Chandra (IAS), formerly Joint Secretary to the Department of Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development, has been given additional charge of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. D D Shira (IAS), formerly Joint Secretary to the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, is now Director in the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, and P K Boro (IAS), formerly Joint Secretary in-charge Urban Affairs, has been relieved from his role as Director of Urban Affairs.
