Prayagraj set for massive facelift ahead of Mahakumbh 2025

The Uttar Pradesh government has stepped up preparations for holding Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj on a grand note. It includes setting up new power stations, laying new electricity lines as well as upgrading roads and water facilities. The comprehensive plan encompasses the establishment of new power stations, extensive installation of electricity lines, and significant enhancements to the city’s infrastructure, particularly its road and water facilities.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to excellence in execution. The Prayagraj Mahakumbh commences with the grand ‘shobha yatra,’ featuring participation from various akharas. However, in the past, electric poles along the procession routes used to cause considerable inconvenience to the Akhara members. To mitigate this issue, efforts are underway to eliminate these obstacles.

Pramod Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer of Purvanchal Electricity Distribution Corporation, highlighted that electric poles are being systematically removed from all Peshwai routes following the Ministry of Defence’s approval. Simultaneously, there’s a concerted push to lay underground cables in the Kumbh area’s parade ground and its vicinity, with similar initiatives underway from the Triple IT intersection to the airport.

With an eye on Mahakumbh 2025, the administration strives to promptly complete all undertakings by October to address any potential shortcomings. As part of this endeavor, permanent electricity infrastructure is being swiftly implemented across the city. This initiative includes the construction of two 132 KV power stations in the Hetapatti and Beli areas, with the former already operational and the latter in progress. Additionally, 94 distribution transformers have been installed to bolster the city’s power network.

As anticipation builds for Mahakumbh 2025, Prayagraj‘s transformation promises to elevate the grand event to unprecedented heights, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all participants and visitors alike.
