Vipul Aggarwal, a distinguished 2001 batch Indian Police Service Officer from the Gujarat Cadre, has been appointed as the Principal Commissioner of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). This significant appointment follows his notable tenure as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, a position he held since July 2023.

Prior to his role in health administration, Aggarwal served as the Deputy CEO of the National Health Authority, a pivotal governmental body overseeing healthcare schemes in India, from February 2020 to August 2022. Notably, he played a crucial role in shaping and implementing Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), the world’s largest health assurance scheme, extending coverage to approximately 540 million Indian citizens.
Aggarwal, an accomplished scholar, holds a Ph.D. and has contributed significantly to public health research. His academic journey includes a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the prestigious Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he also served as a researcher and policy fellow, enriching numerous projects concerning public health and policy.
