Adani Green Energy announced on Thursday the successful launch of a 126 MW segment of its 300 MW wind power initiative in Gujarat. This development adds to the previously operational 174 MW capacity. The project is expected to generate 1,091 million electricity units annually, contributing to a reduction of around 0.8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, as stated in a press release.
In a regulatory filing, the company stated, “Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Four Limited (AWEK4L), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has commenced operations for an additional 126 MW of merchant wind power in Gujarat.”
This milestone reinforces AGEL‘s position as a leader in the market, overseeing India’s largest renewable energy portfolio of 9,604 MW. With the recent addition, AWEK4L has now operationalized a total project capacity of 300 MW of wind power.
AGEL specializes in developing, owning, and operating utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid renewable power plants. Currently, AGEL’s operational renewable portfolio exceeds 9.5 GW, making it the largest in India and spanning across 12 states.
