The Yogi government is gearing up for the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) 4.0, scheduled on February 19th at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, aiming to launch numerous investment projects across Uttar Pradesh. To be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this event is anticipated to have a profound impact on the state’s economic landscape.

With over 52% of the projects set to be initiated in the Paschimanchal region, the government plans to distribute the remaining investments with 29% in Purvanchal, 14% in Madhyanchal, and 5% in Bundelkhand. The total estimated investment for these projects is an impressive Rs 10 lakh crore, with the potential to generate 33.50 lakh employment opportunities across the state.

The GBC 4.0 aims to kickstart more than 14,000 projects, attracting over 3,000 participants, including prominent industrialists, Fortune Global/India 500 companies, foreign investors, Ambassadors/High Commissioners, and other distinguished guests.

Diversifying across various sectors, the investments include 19.24% in housing, 15% in renewable energy, 13% in manufacturing, 10% in IT and IT-enabled services, 7.83% in logistics and warehousing, 7.5% in energy, 6.01% in food processing, and 5.27% in electronics manufacturing. Noteworthy projects include Data Centers by NIDP (Hiranandani Group), Sify Technologies, STT Global, Jackson Limited, automobile and EV projects by Ashok Leyland and Yamaha, and power projects by NTPC, Greenko Group, Torrent Power, ACME Group, JSW Energy PSP Six, and Tusco.

This marks a significant milestone for the Yogi government, as the projected investment size for GBC-2024 is five times greater than the cumulative investments from the previous three GBCs, showcasing a substantial boost in the economic prospects of the state.
