Rajiv Kumar Gupta has officially taken charge as the Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA). A distinguished IAS officer from the 2016 batch, Gupta previously served as the Secretary of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training.

Gupta brings a diverse range of experience to his new role, having held various positions in the past. With an engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College and a postgraduate degree in English Literature from Punjab University, Chandigarh, he has served as the Director of Higher Education in Punjab, Managing Director of the Sugar Federation Punjab, Managing Director of the Punjab State Agriculture Development Bank, and held key roles in the Chandigarh administration and other esteemed positions.

On his first day at GMADA, Gupta conducted a series of meetings with different departments, including policy, engineering, estate office, planning, and finance, to assess their operations. He diligently reviewed ongoing projects, upcoming initiatives, and the financial status of the Development Authority. Emphasizing the state government’s vision of transparent, clean, and efficient governance, Gupta urged his team to prioritize prompt delivery of public services and adopt a citizen-centric approach, ensuring no inconvenience or harassment to the public.

Expressing concern over the proliferation of illegal constructions in various areas over the years, Gupta instructed the officials to take immediate and regular action to put an end to such activities. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of diligent work and adherence to project timelines to ensure successful completion.

With Rajiv Kumar Gupta at the helm, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority is poised to witness an era of accountable administration and focused development, addressing the needs and aspirations of the public while maintaining transparency and efficiency.
