As the three municipal bodies in the national capital have been unified as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued orders to appoint Gyanesh Bharti as Commissioner of the unified civic body. Before taking over the newly assigned post, Bharti, 1988-Batch IAS officer, was heading the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) as Commissioner.
Further, Ashwani Kumar, an IAS officer of 1992-Batch, has been assigned the post of Special Officer of the unified Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
