MHA Appoints Naresh Kumar as Chief Secretary of Delhi

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), on April 19, issued orders to appoint Naresh Kumar as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. The 1987-Batch IAS officer, Kumar, is currently serving as the Chief Secretary of the State of Arunachal Pradesh. With the new appointment, he will take over the charge of CS, Delhi from Vijay Dev, another IAS officer of the 1987-Batch. Dev is slated to retire on April 19.


Dev has taken a voluntary retirement a year before his superannuation in March 2023. He will take over the post of the State Election Commissioner of Delhi and Chandigarh on Thursday, April 21.
