
The Indian Railways announced the cancellation of all the regular train tickets booked for travel till June 30. Moreover, as per the announcements, the Railways will be issuing refunds to all the passengers who had booked tickets for travels. Indian Railways has cancelled all regular train tickets booked for travel till June 30. However, the ‘Shramik Special’ trains and the 15 special trains which the Railways started on May 12 will remain operational.
The Shramik trains will continue to ferry stranded labourers from cities to their home towns in various states as per the schedule released earlier. And, the 15 routes which were opened on May 12 will continue to ferry stranded Indians in different parts of the country back to their homes.
The Indian Railways started the operations of the 15 special trains on May 12 and on the first day itself, the Railways received 80,000 bookings on its IRCTC portal which accounted to a staggering amount of Rs 16 crore.
