The Government’s policy making body Niti Aayog is planning to explore Blockhain technologies in the areas of education, health and agriculture.
Currently, the Aayog is working on the ‘proof of concept’ for blockchain. It has also organised a hackathon on blockchain technology to explore its various opportunities in various sectors.
A blockchain is a decentralised and distributed digital ledger to record transactions across many computers so that the record cannot be altered without the alteration of all subsequent blocks.
This helps the participants to verify and audit transactions inexpensively.
Niti Aayog was formed in place of Planning Commission three years ago.
