Govt gets Rs 90,000-cr investment proposals for electronics manufacturing

The government has received Rs 90,000-crore investment proposals in the last two months for electronics manufacturing in India.


Both local and foreign companies are showing interest in making mobile phones in India, according to report.

“The proposals worth Rs 90,000 crore have been received in the last two months. India has already become the fastest-growing smartphone market,” said Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Communications and IT.

The Government of India has launched the ‘Make in India’ Programme to promote manufacturing in India and develop it as a hub for manufacturing, design and innovation.
