YC Modi, one of the senior IPS officers of 1984 batch, Assam-Meghalaya cadre has been appointed as Additional Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

At present, Modi is working as a Additional Director General of Police in Shillong. Earlier, in August 2010, he was also a part of the SIT formed in August 2010 and remained there till July 2012.

In his new stint, Modi has replaced Archana Ramasundaram, who was recently moved out of the CBI and appointed as Director, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).
