The incumbent Special Secretary, Department of Telecommunications & IT, Rita A Teotia has been appointed as new Commerce Secretary. She is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and will replace Rajeev Kher, who is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He will be superannuated on June 30, 2015.
