Over the time, the district unit got involved in various computerisation projects, which contributed to the e-Governance drive by providing various information about district administration, Zilla Panchayat and other state and central departments. Among them website of Agriculture Department provides details regarding agriculture and marketing. It provides information on annual normal rainfall of the district, main cropping season, total cultivable area, details of pesticides to be used, fee for pesticide selling license, schemes of the Department and so on. Agriculture Assistant, a basic level extension worker, is placed in each of GP to enlighten farmers about new technology and to ensure its adaptation to maximum extent. Tips for farmers are available on daily basis on the website. Weather reports are made available on a day-to-day basis. The e-mail IDs and phone number of concerned authorities of the department, right from local to state level, are made available in the website. If the access of computer goes in the same speed we may see farmers too sitting in front of computer or walking with a laptop!
