Jawaharlal Nehru University, (New Delhi) is entering into e-Governance programme. JNU has developed the e-Governance cell to help streamline operations and utilise the resources in a optimal way.
Accel Frontline Ltd. of Chennai has developed software for JNU, while Wipro is providing technical consulting. The cell has developed different modules like Manpower Information Management System, Student Information Management System, Financial Information Management System and Library Information Management System. The objective of JNU cell is to make workflow more efficient with computerised operations and make accurate data and information available to users. This will help to reduce the time for official work. JNU is also providing training programmes in basic operations of computers to all administrative staff members.
