PNB and EBL plans to share ATM networks in Himalayan region

Punjab National Bank (PNB) of India and Everest Bank Ltd. (EBL) of Nepal are planning to share ATM networks in the Himalayan region of the country.

PNB is planning to expand its services in the Himalayan region and also planning to tie up with other banks of Nepal. Chennai-based Financial Software and Systems Pvt Ltd will provide ATM sharing solution to PNB through FSSNeT cross the country. PNB will act as the settlement bank, while FSS will provide settlement reports, with appropriate currency conversion. EBLhas already outsourced ATM transaction processing services to Smart Choice Technology (SCT). FSSNeT and SCT have established a data communication network for both banks. Card holders for both would be able to use ATM services.
