The Chhattisgarh government has carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring and posting nearly 24 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across important positions. The changes cover Inspector General (IG) ranges, Police Headquarters (PHQ), Special Armed Force (SAF) battalions, district police units and the Raipur Police Commissionerate.

The latest exercise is aimed at strengthening police leadership, improving administrative coordination and enhancing law enforcement across the state.

Senior IPS Officers Get New Assignments

• Among the key appointments, Ajay Kumar Yadav, who was serving as Director of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy, Chandkhuri, has been appointed Inspector General, Rajnandgaon Range.
• Balaji Rao Somavar, earlier serving as Inspector General, Rajnandgaon Range, has been transferred as Inspector General, Police Headquarters (PHQ), Naya Raipur.
• Prashant Kumar Agrawal, who was heading the Bastar Range, has also been posted as Inspector General, Police Headquarters, Naya Raipur.
• The government has appointed Prashant Kumar Thakur and Ramkrishna Sahu as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Police Headquarters, Naya Raipur.

Changes in PHQ and Special Armed Force

• Several officers have been assigned important responsibilities in the Police Headquarters and Special Armed Force (SAF).
• Dharmendra Chhabai has been posted as Commandant, 8th Battalion, Special Armed Force (SAF), Rajnandgaon.
• Shweta Rajmani has been appointed Deputy Inspector General, SAF, Jagdalpur.
• Rajesh Kukreja has been posted as Deputy Inspector General, Police Headquarters.
• Bhavna Gupta and Ravi Kumar Kurre have been appointed Additional Inspector General, Police Headquarters.
• Suraj Singh Parihar has been posted as Commandant, 4th Battalion, Special Armed Force, Mana (Raipur).

New Superintendents of Police Posted in Districts

The reshuffle also includes appointments of new Superintendents of Police (SPs) in several districts.

The officers and their new postings are:

1. Sunil Sharma – Superintendent of Police, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.
2. Chandramohan Singh – Superintendent of Police, Dantewada.
3. Harish Rathore – Superintendent of Police, Koriya.
4. Bhawna Pandey – Superintendent of Police, Dhamtari.
5. Trilok Bansal – Superintendent of Police, Bemetara.
6. Jitendra Kumar Yadav – Superintendent of Police, Kabirdham.
7. Chavhan Kiran Gangaram – Superintendent of Police, Balod.
8. Yogesh Kumar Patel – Superintendent of Police, Surajpur.
9. Rai Gaurav Rampravesh – Superintendent of Police, Balodabazar-Bhatapara.
10. Umesh Prasad Gupta – Superintendent of Police, Bijapur.
11. Sandeep Kumar Patel – Superintendent of Police, Narayanpur.

In another important posting, Robinson Guria has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Raipur Urban.
