The Tamil Nadu government has announced a fresh round of administrative transfers involving 10 IAS officers, introducing changes across district administration, transport, tourism, urban development, handloom cooperatives, and municipal governance.

The reshuffle includes the appointment of new District Collectors for Madurai and Sivaganga, along with leadership changes in key state-run organisations such as the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), Co-optex, and the Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDCO).
The move is aimed at strengthening governance and improving administrative efficiency across departments.

Changes in Transport and Mining Departments

Among the major transfers, T. Prabhushankar has been moved from his position as Managing Director of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), Chennai.
He has been appointed as Director of Geology and Mining, taking over from D. Mohan.

In turn, D. Mohan has been posted as the new Managing Director of MTC, where he will oversee Chennai’s public transport operations.
Tourism Department Gets New Leadership
V.P. Jeyaseelan, who was serving as Joint Commissioner (Health) in the Greater Chennai Corporation, has been appointed Director of Tourism.
He succeeds M.S. Shanmugam, who is set to retire at the end of June.
In addition to heading the Tourism Department, Jeyaseelan will also serve as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), overseeing tourism promotion and infrastructure initiatives across the state.
New Appointments in Co-optex and TUFIDCO
J. Innocent Divya has been appointed Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Society (Co-optex).
She replaces Kavitha Ramu, who has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (TUFIDCO).
The appointments are expected to strengthen both the handloom sector and urban infrastructure financing initiatives in the state.
Urban Development and Municipal Administration Changes
P. Ramana Saraswathi, previously serving as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited, has been appointed Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board.
She takes charge from Shreya P. Singh, who has been transferred as Joint Commissioner (Health), Greater Chennai Corporation.
The new posting places Saraswathi at the forefront of housing and urban development programmes being implemented across Tamil Nadu.
Madurai and Sivaganga Collectors Exchanged
The reshuffle has also brought significant changes in district administration.
P. Akash, who was serving as District Collector of Madurai, has been transferred and appointed District Collector of Sivaganga.
Meanwhile, Nishant Krishna, the outgoing District Collector of Sivaganga, has been posted as the new District Collector of Madurai.
The exchange is expected to bring fresh administrative perspectives and strengthen governance in both districts.
New Role in HR&CE Department
N. Ponmani, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Commercial Taxes in Erode, has been appointed Additional Commissioner in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department for the Tiruchi Region.

The department plays a key role in the administration of temples and religious institutions across Tamil Nadu.

Officials believe the reshuffle will help improve coordination among departments, accelerate implementation of government programmes and enhance service delivery to citizens.
