Uttar Pradesh PCS Officers

The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a minor but significant administrative reshuffle, transferring six Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers to new postings across the state. The changes, which affect key districts including Mathura, Hamirpur, Kanpur Nagar, Gonda and Firozabad, are aimed at improving administrative efficiency and strengthening governance at the district and city levels.

Key Change in Mathura Administration

The most prominent transfer has taken place in Mathura, a city of major religious and tourist importance. Rakesh Kumar, who was serving as City Magistrate and Magistrate in-charge of the temple complex, has been transferred to Hamirpur as Additional District Magistrate (Finance/Revenue).

He has been replaced by Anupam Kumar Mishra, who was earlier posted as Special Officer in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority. Mishra will now serve as City Magistrate, Mathura, and also take charge as Magistrate in-charge of the Mathura temple complex. Officials said the move is intended to ensure smoother administration and better coordination, particularly in view of recent law-and-order and crowd management challenges during high-profile visits.

Postings in Kanpur Nagar

Two important changes have also been made in Kanpur Nagar:

  • Rajesh Kumar, earlier Additional District Magistrate (Judicial), has been appointed Additional District Magistrate (City Administration).

  • Mahesh Prakash, who was awaiting posting, has been posted as Additional District Magistrate (Judicial), Kanpur Nagar.

Other Transfers Across the State

The reshuffle also includes postings in other districts:

  • Rinki Jaiswal, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Chief Revenue Officer, Gonda.

  • Ajay Kumar, earlier Deputy District Magistrate in the Kanpur Development Authority, has been posted as Additional Municipal Commissioner, Firozabad Municipal Corporation.

Focus on Governance and Accountability

Officials said such transfers are a routine part of the Yogi Adityanath government’s administrative approach to ensure efficiency, accountability and better delivery of public services. By realigning officers based on experience and district requirements, the government aims to address governance challenges in sensitive and high-footfall areas.

The transfer orders have been issued with immediate effect, and all officers are expected to assume charge of their new responsibilities without delay.
