The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday carried out a portfolio reshuffle among senior IAS officers, assigning new responsibilities in key departments such as tourism, technical education, health, and urban development.
The administrative changes are aimed at strengthening departmental leadership and ensuring better coordination in governance and service delivery.
As part of the reshuffle, J Innocent Divya (IAS), who was serving as Commissioner of Technical Education, has been appointed Commissioner of Tourism. She has also been given additional charge as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), a key role in promoting tourism initiatives across the state.
T Christuraj (IAS), who was heading TTDC as Managing Director, has now been transferred and posted as Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac).
In another significant change, S Visakan (IAS), who was serving as MD of Tasmac, has been appointed Director of Technical Education, taking charge of the state’s higher education administration in the technical sector.
S Uma (IAS), earlier posted as Additional Secretary in the Special Programme Implementation Department, has been moved to the Health and Family Welfare Department as Additional Secretary, where she will support key health sector initiatives and programmes.
Similarly, D Rathna (IAS), who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been transferred to the Housing and Urban Development Department as Additional Secretary, strengthening administrative oversight in urban governance and housing projects.
Officials said the reshuffle is part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at placing officers in roles that best match their experience and departmen tal needs.

The new postings will come into effect immediately, and all officers are expected to assume charge in their respective departments in the coming days.
The government periodically undertakes such portfolio changes to improve efficiency, streamline decision-making and ensure focused implementation of state development priorities.
