Sandhya Venugopal among 7 Senior IAS Promoted to Chief Secy Rank in Tamil Nadu

The Government of Tamil Nadu has promoted seven senior IAS officers of the 1995 batch to the Chief Secretary rank.


The officers elevated to the rank are T Udhayachandran (Finance), Sandhya Venugopal (Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation), P Senthilkumar (Health and Family Welfare), R Jaya (Economics and Statistics) and M A Siddique (Chennai Metro Rail Limited).

In a separate order, six IAS officers of the 2002 batch have been promoted to the Principal Secretary grade. They include Archana Patnaik (Chief Electoral Officer), Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan (Disaster Management), C Samayamoorthy (Secretary-II to the Chief Minister), Reeta Harish Thakkar (Public and Rehabilitation) and Jayashree Muralidharan (Social Welfare and Women Empowerment).

The government has also promoted 12 IAS officers of the 2010 batch to the super time scale. The officers are R Lalitha, Praveen P Nair, Shankar Lal Kumawat, Subodh Kumar, Ajay Yadav, Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, R Kannan, S Natarajan, A Sivagnanam, L Nirmalraj, S A Raman and A Annadurai.

All promotions will take effect from January 1, 2026.
