The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered a reshuffle of top police leadership in two strategically important regions, appointing new Directors General of Police (DGPs) for Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal (IPS, AGMUT:1995) has been appointed as the new DGP of Arunachal Pradesh, while Mukesh Singh (IPS, AGMUT:1996) will take charge as the DGP of Ladakh.
Jamwal was earlier serving as the DGP of Ladakh and now moves to Arunachal Pradesh, a border state that requires experienced leadership for maintaining law and order and managing security-related responsibilities. His new assignment is expected to strengthen policing and administrative coordination in the state.
Mukesh Singh, who has held several key central and field postings in his career, will now head the police force in Ladakh. The Union Territory continues to remain a focus area for security preparedness, disaster management and infrastructure development, making the DGP’s role especially significant.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Arunachal Pradesh DGP Anand Mohan (IPS, AGMUT:1994) has been transferred to Delhi for a new assignment.
Officials said the reshuffle is part of routine cadre management aimed at placing senior officers with relevant experience in sensitive and high-priority regions.
