The Central Government has issued a large-scale transfer and posting order for officers of the AGMUT cadre, affecting 49 senior officers – including 31 IAS and 18 IPS officers – as part of an administrative restructuring across key Union Territories and border regions.

The reshuffle involves postings across Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Chandigarh, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, aimed at reinforcing governance in strategically sensitive and high-priority regions.

Governance Strengthening Drive
Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administrative leadership in border states, UTs and strategic regions, particularly Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. These areas require experienced officers due to their security, infrastructure and development responsibilities.
