Rama Devi Lanka Joins NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub

NITI Aayog has onboarded Rama Devi Lanka to lead state-level engagement for its Frontier Tech Hub, a national initiative focused on accelerating the adoption of emerging and deep-technology solutions across India.


In this role, she will drive collaboration among state governments, technology innovators, public-sector institutions and industry partners to scale frontier technologies, including AI, blockchain, drones, IoT, Web3, immersive technology and advanced analytics for governance and public service delivery.

Rama Devi Lanka previously served as Director of Emerging Technologies, Government of Telangana, where she was instrumental in shaping policy frameworks and implementation roadmaps that positioned Telangana as a leading innovation hub. She oversaw several initiatives related to AI for social good, blockchain-based governance solutions, drone-based service delivery, and startup-government partnerships.

Her appointment to the national platform is viewed as a significant step toward replicating successful state innovation models nationwide. The Frontier Tech Hub aims to coordinate technology-forward governance by standardising best practices, enabling interoperability and creating scalable frameworks for adoption by multiple states.

With growing focus on digital public infrastructure, responsible AI, public-sector innovation and industry-government collaboration, her leadership is expected to strengthen India’s capacity to deploy emerging technologies for developmental and citizen-centric outcomes.
