Rajasthan Transfers 12 IAS 91 IPS and 142 RAS Officers in Major Reshuffle

Rajasthan government has transferred and reappointed a total of 245 senior officers across the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) cadres. The reshuffle, announced late Saturday evening, comes ahead of the upcoming civic and panchayat elections in the state.

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel, the reshuffle includes the transfer of 12 IAS officers, 91 IPS officers, and 142 RAS officers, marking one of the largest bureaucratic movements in recent months. The changes are aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and aligning governance with current strategic and political priorities.

Among the key developments, Jodhpur Police Commissioner has been replaced, and several Range Inspector Generals (IGs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) across major districts have been reassigned. The IGs of Kota, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Bharatpur ranges are among those shifted.

In a high-profile appointment, Rahul Prakash, who previously served in Bharatpur, has been named the Jaipur Range IG. Ravi Dutt Gaur, formerly the IG of Kota Range, will now assume responsibilities as IG at Police Headquarters in Jaipur. Additionally, Gaurav Srivastava, previously in charge of Chief Minister’s Security and Vigilance, has been appointed as Udaipur Range IG.

Other notable transfers include Sharat Kaviraj, who will take over as IG of the Special Operations Group (SOG), and Rajesh Meena, earlier the Udaipur Range IG, who has been posted as the new IG of Jodhpur Range. Omprakash, former Bikaner Range IG, has been appointed as Jodhpur Police Commissioner.

The reshuffle also saw widespread changes at the district level, with Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 30 districts being reassigned. Prominent SP transfers include:

  • Rashi Dogra Duddi (Jaipur Rural)

  • Mamta Gupta (Rajsamand)

  • Tejaswani Gautam (Kota City)

  • Abhishek Shivhare (Jaisalmer)

  • Mridula Kachhawa (Nagaur)

  • Dr. Amrita Duhan (Sriganganagar)

  • Rajesh Kumar Meena (Tonk)

  • Shailendra Singh Indolia (Jalore)

  • Ramesh (Balotra)

  • Abhishek Andasu (Baran)

  • And many others across various districts, including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, and Alwar.

These appointments are expected to bring renewed focus to law enforcement and governance across Rajasthan’s diverse regions. With civic body elections on the horizon, the reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to ensure administrative alignment and improved field-level implementation of government initiatives.

The government has stated that all transferred officers are expected to take charge of their new postings immediately. Political analysts suggest that such sweeping changes reflect the administration’s readiness to streamline operations in key sectors ahead of the upcoming electoral season. The reshuffle is likely to have a significant impact on administrative continuity, and public service delivery as newly posted officers assume their responsibilities.
