Odisha Govt transfers 3 IAS, Sanjay Kumar Singh appointed Principal Secretary Works Department

In a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, the Odisha government has appointed Sanjay Kumar Singh as the new Principal Secretary to the Works Department, replacing Vir Vikram Yadav, who has been relieved of his duties to take up a central assignment. Yadav, a 1996-batch IAS officer, will assume the role of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India.


Sanjay Kumar Singh, a 1997-batch officer currently serving as Principal Secretary to the Rural Development Department, will now additionally oversee the Information and Public Relations Department and the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, according to a notification from the General Administration Department.

Further strengthening the administrative structure, Yamini Sarangi, a 2008-batch IAS officer, has been named the new Principal Secretary to the Rural Development Department. She will continue to hold her existing responsibilities as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST, in addition to her charge as Special Secretary to the Finance Department.


The reshuffle is part of the state government’s efforts to ensure administrative efficiency and maintain momentum on developmental initiatives.
