RITES, MECON Sign MoU to Jointly Pursue Infrastructure Projects in India and Overseas

Public sector engineering companies RITES Ltd and MECON Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on infrastructure and consultancy projects in India as well as international markets. The partnership aims to leverage the technical expertise of both organisations to explore new business opportunities across multiple sectors.


RITES functions under the Ministry of Railways as a leading transport infrastructure consultancy, while MECON operates under the Ministry of Steel with expertise in engineering, consultancy and project management.

Partnership to Expand Infrastructure Opportunities

Through the agreement, the two companies will work together to identify and bid for projects that require integrated engineering and consultancy services. The collaboration is expected to strengthen their ability to undertake large and complex infrastructure assignments by combining their respective strengths.


The partnership reflects the growing focus of public sector enterprises on collaborative project execution and expanding their presence in both domestic and overseas markets.

The MoU covers a broad spectrum of infrastructure segments, including railways, metro rail systems, highways, expressways, airports, ports, ropeways, bridges, tunnels and urban transport.

In addition, the two organisations will explore opportunities in energy, mining, water resources, hydropower, wastewater management and industrial infrastructure, enabling them to offer comprehensive solutions for large-scale development projects.

RITES brings extensive experience in transport infrastructure planning, engineering consultancy and project execution, while MECON has established capabilities in the metal, mining, energy and industrial sectors.
