The Haryana government has carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration, transferring 23 police officers, including nine Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 14 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers, with immediate effect. The transfer orders, issued by Additional Chief Secretary Sudhir Rajpal, introduce several leadership changes across key wings of the Haryana Police.


The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing, improving administrative efficiency and ensuring smooth functioning across departments following recent changes in senior-level appointments.

Arshinder Singh Chawla Given Additional Charge of DG Prisons

Senior IPS officer Arshinder Singh Chawla (IPS:1993), who is currently serving as Director General, State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, has been assigned the additional charge of Director General (Prisons).

He takes over the responsibility following the central deputation of Alok Mittal (IPS:1993), who has been appointed Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.


Kala Ramachandran Gets Additional Responsibility

Another senior IPS officer, Kala Ramachandran (IPS:1993), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director, Madhuban Forensic Science Laboratory.

She will continue to serve as Director General of Police, Madhuban Complex, and Director (Training), Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, alongside her new responsibility.

Pankaj Nain Assigned Additional Charge of Panchkula Police Commissioner

Pankaj Nain has been given the additional charge of Police Commissioner, Panchkula.

He will continue to hold his existing responsibilities as:

  • Special Officer (Community Policing and Outreach) in the Chief Minister’s Office
  • Inspector General (Security), CID Headquarters
  • Inspector General, Ambala Range

Other IPS-Level Changes

The reshuffle also includes important changes involving other IPS officers.

Srishti Gupta has been transferred from the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Panchkula, and appointed Assistant Inspector General (Welfare), Police Headquarters, Panchkula. She will continue to hold the additional charge of Superintendent of Police, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau.

Aditi Singh, who was serving as Superintendent of Police, State Vigilance Bureau, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Panchkula.

Overall, four IPS officers have been entrusted with additional responsibilities as part of the latest administrative exercise.

14 HPS Officers Get New Postings

The government has also transferred 14 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers across various districts and police units.

The officers and their new postings are:

  1. Akshay Kumar – DSP, Hansi.
  2. Shraddha Singh – DSP, Rohtak.
  3. Hitesh Kumar – ACP, Jhajjar.
  4. Sahil Dhillon – DSP, Charkhi Dadri.
  5. Arvind Dahiya – DSP, Durga, HAP 1st Battalion, Sunaria (Rohtak).
  6. Indrajit Singh – ACP, Gurugram.
  7. Praveen Malik – ACP, Gurugram.
  8. Atma Ram – DSP, Haryana State Enforcement Directorate Headquarters.
  9. Garima Devi – DSP, 1st India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Bhondsi.
  10. Virendra Sharma – DSP, Rohtak.
  11. Kanwaljit Singh – DSP, Hansi.
  12. Gurvinder Singh – DSP, Kurukshetra.
  13. Prithvi Singh – DSP, 4th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Manesar.
  14. One additional HPS officer has also been transferred; however, the official information available does not specify the officer’s name or new posting.

Focus on Strengthening Police Administration

The latest reshuffle reflects the Haryana government’s effort to reinforce leadership across important police units, including prisons, forensic services, vigilance, narcotics control and urban policing. The transfers also ensure continuity in administration following recent appointments to central deputation.
