Rajasthan is preparing a strategic roadmap to enhance mineral production, strengthen marketing efforts and increase revenue from its mining sector, with a focus on unlocking the full commercial potential of the state’s mineral resources. Additional Chief Secretary (Mines & Petroleum) Aparna Arora reviewed the performance of Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals Limited (RSMML) and directed the corporation to adopt a forward-looking approach to drive growth.
During the review, Arora highlighted Rajasthan’s strong position in rock phosphate production and stressed the need to explore new opportunities, including assessing the potential for potash mining and expanding into additional mineral segments. She also directed officials to prepare a detailed action plan for the remainder of the current financial year to improve operational and financial performance.
RSMML recorded a turnover of approximately ₹1,922 crore in FY 2025-26 and sold 70.64 lakh tonnes of minerals during the year. The sales included 41.95 lakh tonnes of limestone, 17.65 lakh tonnes of rock phosphate, 9.24 lakh tonnes of lignite and 1.80 lakh tonnes of gypsum. The corporation aims to further increase production and sales in the current fiscal year.

RSMML Managing Director P. Rameesh informed the review that the corporation is establishing an R&D cell to promote mining research, evaluate emerging technologies and monitor market trends. Officials said the initiative is expected to support data-driven decision-making, improve efficiency and strengthen Rajasthan’s mining ecosystem while contributing to higher revenues and long-term sectoral growth.
