Andhra Pradesh has taken another major step towards strengthening its industrial and economic landscape, with the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approving investment proposals worth ₹30,515 crore from 50 companies. The projects are expected to generate nearly 30,000 employment opportunities across various sectors in the state.

The approvals were granted during the 18th meeting of the SIPB chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada. The meeting focused on accelerating industrial growth, attracting investments, creating jobs and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for emerging industries.

Investment Push to Create Jobs and Drive Growth

The approved projects are expected to bring investments across multiple sectors and create approximately 29,677 jobs. Chief Minister Naidu emphasized that industrial growth should translate into tangible benefits for ordinary citizens, particularly the poor and middle-class population.

He directed officials to ensure that the state’s industrial ecosystem supports not only large corporations but also startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses, creating a broader economic impact.

Focus on Startups and Innovation

The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of nurturing innovation-led enterprises and strengthening the startup ecosystem. He called for greater support through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH) and encouraged efforts to connect emerging businesses with venture capital funding.

Naidu also stressed the need to equip young people with future-ready skills by aligning educational programmes with evolving industry requirements, including robotics, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Green Energy and Ethanol Sector Receive Special Attention

The meeting also discussed Andhra Pradesh’s ambitions in clean energy and sustainable industries. The Chief Minister said the state should emerge as a leading destination for ethanol production, noting that increased biofuel production could benefit farmers while reducing dependence on imported fuels.

He urged officials to attract investments in ethanol manufacturing and engage with oil marketing companies to strengthen the sector.

Naidu further identified solar power, wind energy, pumped storage projects and battery energy storage systems as critical components of Andhra Pradesh‘s long-term energy strategy and directed officials to accelerate projects aligned with the state’s 160 GW green energy vision.

Semiconductor and Data Centre Ecosystem

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to building a strong semiconductor ecosystem in the state. He also highlighted the need to promote data centres supported by reliable power infrastructure and encouraged investment in lithium-ion battery manufacturing and electric vehicle charging technologies.

Officials were asked to create a conducive environment for advanced manufacturing industries that can contribute to technology-led economic growth.

Vision for AI and Quantum Technologies

Referring to the state’s growing technology ecosystem, Naidu proposed the development of an integrated Quantum Valley in Amaravati. The initiative would include research centres, technology parks, quantum computing infrastructure and innovation facilities.

He also advocated the use of technology-driven approval systems to simplify project clearances, improve transparency and accelerate investment decisions.

Defence, Aerospace and Tourism Development

The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite work related to the proposed Fifth Generation Fighter Jet Manufacturing and Testing Facility at Puttaparthi. He said the Bengaluru-Puttaparthi region has the potential to emerge as a major defence and aerospace manufacturing corridor.

In addition, Naidu emphasized the development of tourism infrastructure across the state. He called for focused planning to promote destinations such as Gandikota, Polavaram, Horsley Hills, Kurnool, Anantapur and Suryalanka Beach.
