Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, in his message featured in the souvenir, emphasised the importance of such knowledge initiatives, stating: “The Special Souvenir being brought out as part of VGRC 2026 highlights the region’s strengths, opportunities, and investment potential. Such initiatives contribute to presenting South Gujarat’s industrial capabilities and future-prospects, while reinforcing investor confidence in Gujarat’s progressive and industry-friendly ecosystem.
He further appreciated the collaborative effort, adding that “The Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) and Elets Technomedia have undertaken a commendable effort in bringing out this publication, continuing the legacy of VGRC Souvenirs earlier released for Mehsana and Rajkot.”
The souvenir presents a comprehensive narrative of South Gujarat as a dynamic growth engine of India’s industrial future. The cover story, titled “South Gujarat: The Industrial Catalyst shaping India’s Industrial Future,” captures the region’s transformation into a hub of manufacturing excellence, export competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Apart from featuring visionary perspectives from the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, several key ministers, the Chief Secretary and senior bureaucrats, which collectively underline the state’s policy-driven approach to industrial expansion and innovation-led growth, the souvenir also includes an in-depth interview series with Gujarat’s Science and Technology Minister Shri Arjun Modhwadia.
It further carries insights from senior administrators such as Industries Commissioner Shri Swaroop P; Surat Municipal Commissioner Shri M Nagarajan; and Managing Director of iNDEXTb Shri K C Sampat. Contributions from academia and industry leaders, including AURO University Founder President Hasmukh P. Rama, SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi, and GTU Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajul Gajjar, outline a broader development vision for the region.
A major strength of the souvenir lies in its sectoral deep dives, covering high-growth industries such as gems and jewellery, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, agro and food processing, textiles, infrastructure, renewable energy, MSMEs, and startups. These sections provide a data-driven and policy-aligned overview of investment opportunities across sectors.
Additionally, detailed district profiles of Surat, Dang, Valsad, Bharuch, Tapi, and Navsari present a localised understanding of economic strengths, demographic advantages, and industrial ecosystems, positioning South Gujarat as a diversified and future-ready region.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, Elets Technomedia, highlighted that the publication aims to serve as a bridge between policy vision and industry participation, offering stakeholders a consolidated view of opportunities in the region.
