In a major administrative reshuffle, the Punjab government has transferred 6 IAS and 39 PCS officers with immediate effect, aiming to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across key departments.

The orders, issued by the Department of Personnel under the Governor of Punjab, direct all officers to take charge of their new assignments without delay.

Key IAS-Level Appointments

Among the significant changes, Neelima (IAS: 2008) has been appointed as Secretary, Home Affairs. She was earlier serving as Chief Executive of the Punjab Energy Development Agency.

Other key postings include:

  • Sakshi Sawhney (IAS: 2014) appointed as Chief Administrator of PUDA and Director, Town & Country Planning
  • Sandeep Kumar (IAS: 2015) posted as Chief Administrator of GMADA
  • Abhijeet Kaplish (IAS: 2015) given additional charge as Chief Executive of the Punjab Energy Development Agency
  • Manisha Rana (IAS: 2019) appointed Managing Director of PRTC, Patiala under the Transport Department
  • Latif Ahmed assigned additional charge as CEO of the Punjab Waqf Board

Wide-Ranging PCS Transfers

The reshuffle also includes extensive transfers at the PCS level, affecting officers across districts such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, and Jalandhar.

Several officers have been reassigned as SDMs, Assistant Commissioners, Regional Transport Officers, and municipal officials, while some have been posted to Punjab Bhawan in New Delhi and other key administrative roles.

Focus on Governance and Efficiency

The changes impact critical sectors including:

  • Urban development and housing
  • Transport and local governance
  • Agriculture and mining
  • District administration

Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at streamlining responsibilities, improving coordination, and enhancing administrative efficiency across departments.

With experienced officers placed in strategic roles, the Punjab government is looking to strengthen policy implementation and ensure better delivery of public services across the state.
