In a move aimed at strengthening India’s self-reliance in defence technology, Bharat Electronics Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bit Mapper Integration Technologies Pvt Ltd.
The collaboration will focus on the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced electronic solutions for defence and aerospace applications. Key areas of work include Electronic Warfare (EW), naval radar systems, and drone technologies—critical domains for modern defence capabilities.
The agreement was formalised between BEL’s Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Jain and BMIT CEO Amit Mahajan in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Officials said the partnership aims to develop advanced electronic modules, subsystems, and complete systems while enhancing India’s indigenous design and production capabilities. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader push for ‘Make in India’ and self-reliance in strategic sectors.
By combining BEL’s extensive experience in defence electronics with BMIT’s specialised technological capabilities, the collaboration is expected to accelerate innovation in high-end, mission-critical technologies.
The partnership also reflects a growing trend of collaboration between public sector enterprises and private technology firms to build a stronger domestic defence manufacturing ecosystem.
