In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh Government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred five senior IPS officers, all at the DIG rank, on February 6. The transfer orders were issued late Friday evening, with key postings involving Lucknow and Moradabad, particularly in anti-corruption, specialised policing, and training establishments.
Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia Moved to DGP Office
Lucknow resident and 2009-batch IPS officer Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, who was serving as DIG in the Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow, has been posted as DIG (Establishment) at the DGP Office. A BTech graduate prior to joining the civil services, Chaurasia is expected to bring technical and administrative expertise to the personnel and establishment wing.
Sushil Kumar Ghule Takes Charge at STF
Ghule Sushil Kumar, a 2012-batch IPS officer from Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar, has been promoted from SSP to DIG and posted to the Special Task Force (STF) in Lucknow. His elevation reflects the government’s focus on strengthening elite units engaged in tackling organised crime and complex security challenges.
Sachindra Patel Posted to Anti-Corruption Wing
Sachindra Patel, who was earlier posted with the 44th PAC Battalion in Meerut, has been transferred as DIG to the Anti-Corruption Organisation, Lucknow. He replaces Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, with the change aimed at providing renewed leadership to the anti-graft apparatus.
Yamuna Prasad Shifted to PTS Moradabad
2012-batch IPS officer Yamuna Prasad, a native of Uttar Pradesh and a BA and MA graduate, has been moved from the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate, where he served as DCP, to DIG at the Police Training School (PTS), Moradabad. His new role will focus on strengthening training and capacity-building of police personnel.

Hemraj Meena Assigned to UP SIFS
Superintendent Hemraj Meena, who was earlier posted at Police Headquarters, has been given charge as DIG at the UP State Industrial and Firefighting Service (SIFS) in Lucknow. His posting is expected to enhance industrial security preparedness and emergency response mechanisms.

Officials indicated that the reshuffle is aimed at optimising leadership across sensitive and specialised wings of the police force. By repositioning experienced officers in key roles, the state government seeks to strengthen anti-corruption efforts, improve training standards, and enhance operational effectiveness in Uttar Pradesh’s policing system.
