The Maharashtra government on Monday issued transfer and posting orders for four senior IAS officers, as part of an administrative reshuffle intended to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across key departments. The changes follow recent notifications issued by the Union Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) relating to Selection Grade (Non-SCS) appointments.

According to official orders dated February 2, 2026, the reshuffle includes postings in departments dealing with public health, food and drug regulation, social welfare, and cooperative institutions.

Shridhar Dube, IAS (SCS:2014), has been appointed Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Mumbai. He was earlier serving as Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Co-operative Marketing Federation. His appointment comes at a time when food and drug safety continues to be a priority area for the state administration.

Satyajit Bade, appointed to the IAS by Selection (Non-SCS) under the DoPT notification dated January 28, 2026, has been transferred from his role as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Raigad, and posted as Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Pune. Officials said the move is expected to strengthen the implementation of welfare schemes and policies for persons with disabilities.

Dr Sunil Bhokre, also appointed by Selection (Non-SCS), has been shifted from his position as Project Director, Maharashtra AIDS Control Society, Mumbai, and appointed Commissioner, Urban Health, Mumbai. With a background in public health administration, Dr Bhokre is expected to play a key role in improving healthcare delivery in urban areas.

In another transfer, Rahul Kulkarni, appointed by Selection (Non-SCS) through the same DoPT notification, has been moved from his post as Joint Secretary, Home Department, Mantralaya, and posted as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Co-operative Marketing Federation, Mumbai.

Officials said the reshuffle reflects coordinated administrative planning between the state government and the central personnel authority, aimed at optimal deployment of officers based on sector-specific requirements.

The government indicated that such realignments are part of routine administrative reviews focused on enhancing institutional efficiency and ensuring continuity in key departments. Further postings and adjustments may follow in the coming weeks.
