Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday said the Government of India has dedicated the year 2025 to governance reforms aimed at improving the ease of living for citizens. The announcement, made during separate engagements with officials and stakeholders, underscored the Centre’s commitment to strengthen administrative systems and enhance public service delivery.

Dr Singh, who holds independent charge of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, emphasised that 2025 will be a year of action, with a special focus on simplifying processes, increasing transparency, and reducing procedural bottlenecks in government services.
Speaking at an event, he said the objective is to ensure that citizens interact with government systems with minimal friction. Central to this is the adoption of digital tools, streamlined workflows, and better citizen-centric service mechanisms.

Officials said the initiative will involve a series of measures and evaluations across ministries and state administrations to identify areas where governance outcomes can be improved. This includes reforms in grievance redressal, public transactions, and service delivery metrics.

Dr Singh also noted the continuing role of technology in governance transformation. He highlighted that the integration of digital platforms — including mobile apps and online portals — will help make services more accessible to people across urban and rural areas.

An official involved in the initiative said, “The focus on governance reforms this year reflects a broad commitment to make government services faster, more responsive and easier to navigate for citizens.”
With the announcement, several coordinated activities and reform pilots are expected to be launched in 2025. Ministries and departments will work together to roll out changes that can improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times for key public services.
